Producer AM Ratnam once rocked the South with back to back super hits but later his career graph took a dip after consecutive failures. A Chennai based film financier Krishnan had approached Madras High court alleging that AM Ratnam has failed to return his money. According to Krishnan, his mother lent Rs 1.50 Crore to him for the film ‘Kallan’. He was supposed to repay the amount before the release of the movie in January 2006 with an interest of 18 percent per annumbut he defaulted in paying both the principal and interest.
Later, the duo again entered into an agreement for a different film to pay an interest of 36 percent annually post the due date. Now the financier alleges that Ratnam is due to him a total of 4.60 crore, including interest till October. Hope he comes out of this mess!
