Gujarati film, The Good Road will be India’s official entry to Oscars. A committee appointed by the Film Federation of India (FFI), led by Bengali filmmaker Gautam Ghose have selected the movie directed by a debutant director, Gyan Correa. ‘The Good Road’ was picked over ‘The Lunchbox’, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, ‘Ship of Theseus’, ‘English Vinglish’ and ‘Shabdo’.
This selection did not go well with Netizens. There was an immediate uproar in Twitter after people started tweeting in favour of Lunch Box which was deemed as the front runner. Tanikella Bharani’s Midhunam and JK Bharavi Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya were sent to the committee from Telugu but we were told that they were not even managed to come loser.
