Yes, we all love to clap, whistle, dance and go crazy when we see our favourite heroes delivering punchy dialogues/ double meaning or beating the villain black and blue or if he dances on a ‘tapanguchi’ number. But being fed with the same content over and over again will only lead to nausea rather such films will have a slow death.
Our audience we understand come to the theatres to have three-hour total entertainment and considering that most of us are stressed we prefer brainless stories over intelligently-crafted movies. But most of the filmmakers make massy films because the front-row audience contributes to the majority and thus classy films are relatively few. One recent example was Mahesh Babu’s one Nenokkadine, which in fact was classy film lost to Ram Charan Yevadu that was loved by the “masses”.
On a larger perspective filmmakers should come to accept the fact that the audience on the whole is growing to be mature and in no time they will simply not go to theatres to watch a massy flick even if it is of their favourite hero. So brace up Tollywood make way for the classy films, you have loaded us with enough of your mass and mindless movies for decades now!
