Prema Ishq Kadhal despite being a small film managed to create good buzz with its excellent music and interesting trailers. The movie finally released today amid good expectations. Here is how it actually shaped up!
Prema Ishq Kadhal is the story of three couples. Randy [Harsha Vardhan Rane] a Rockstar and a coffee shop owner/ Sarayu [Vithika Sheru] a college going girl; Royal Raju [Vishnu Vardhan] an assistant director / Sameera [Rithu Varma], a costume designer and RJ Arjun [Harish] a playboy / Shanti [Srimukhi] a software professional. What happens in their lives? How they understand love and life forms the actual story.
Harsha Vardhan Rane (Thakita Thakita and Avunu fame) delivered a lively and natural performance. His first stage performance scene in the movie and the performance in the climax scene are really good. The other new comers have also come up with a matured performance. Among the heroines, Rithu Varma is at her glamorous best in the movie.
Satyam Rajesh, Josh Ravi and Satya managed some good comedy. Poster Designer Bhanu Avirneni appeared in a little cameo. Nara Rohit’s voice-over complimented the movie well.
The story of the movie is wafer thin. The first half of the movie goes on very well with some good comedy and effective screenplay. The director did not opt for separate comedy tracks but embedded the comedy situationally. The second half of the movie lost pace. Shravan’s music is the backbone of the film. The songs are excellent and very well shot. Back ground music worked wonders in many scenes. The camera work by Karthik is crystal clear. And the production values are good for a low budget movie like this.
1. Dragged Second Half
2. Wafer thin story
Prema Ishq Kadhal is a clean entertainer which aims at youth and multiplex audience. It was a decent rom-com which you can enjoy over the weekend for time pass. The movie is a definite paisa vasool at least for its soulful music and rest all is bonus.
Bottom Line : Musical Treat.
