Rajpal Yadav, the Bollywood actor is in trouble. The Delhi High Court has sent the actor to judicial custody for 10 days. The custody has been sentenced for concealing facts about a recovery suit that was filed by a Delhi-based entrepreneur, MG Agarwal, against him and his wife. The court also noted on the repeated breaching of undertakings given to the couple by the court to repay the loan of Rs 5 Crore, that the actor had taken for his directorial debut, ‘Ata Pata Laapata’ in the year 2010.
Strongly reacting to the absence of Rajpal Yadav and his wife in the court while case regarding the suit was going on, the court issued a deadline of December 3 for presenting themselves in front of the court. Justice Murlidhar also warned the couple the court will issue non-bailable warrants against them for their repeated absence in the court.
Rajpal turned up on Monday but his wife Radha failed to do so. Justice Murlidha, on Tuesday, asked Radha to be present in the Registrar General’s office till the rising of the court, during the hearing on Tuesday. The two lawyers representing the couple were also issued a notice for contempt of court. The judge also asked for Rajpal Yadav to be taken into custody for ten days.
As soon as the news of Rajpal’s arrest came online, people lost no time in commenting about the incident on twitter. The comments pointed out the fact that the actor was a star campaigner for the political party, AAP, and was in Delhi for campaigning. the comments also questioned the timing of the arrest.
