The controversial Sherlyn Chopra model and actress is always in the news. She has done a few minor roles in Bollywood films such as Time Pass, Red Swastik and Game. However her claim to fame is being a contestant on Bigg Boss from where she was evicted on Day 27. Later she did a photo shoot for Playboy and featured in 3D film Kamasutra.
Now Sherlyn is back in the news as she is doing a bi-lingual film in Malayalam and Tamil titled Bad Girl directed by Shajiyem. The film will also be dubbed in Hindi, Telugu, Bhojpuri and few other languages. Sherlyn says : “The script attracted me to Bad Girl. The film is set against the milieu of the fashion industry and is about love, lust and passion of a woman who is caught in it.”
Sherlyn who has gone through the rough and tumble of the fashion industry during her modelling days says : “ I’m a bundle of contradictions and the role suited me as there is something personal about it. The character is passionate and ambitious but at the same time she craves to find security in a family. It is an emotional journey of a woman who has seen the highs and lows in her life.”
The director of the film Shajiyem said : “ I chose Sherlyn Chopra to do Bad Girl as she has an international image. The story is about a bold and daring girl Priya Sharma, who has to face all odds to survive and be successful in the fashion industry. Earlier we had approached a leading lady in south but she wanted the role to be toned down. But when we met Sherlyn after going through the script she agreed. The film is being made under the banner of Shah Films (Bangalore) by Salim Shah and shoot will start by May end.”
The film has music by Sri Murali, an upcoming music director in Malayalam Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. He is a professionally keyboard player who has done over 2500 films in various languages and has worked with legends like MS Viswanathan, Isaignani Ilayaraja and AR Rahman. Murali has done 19 films in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu. He will be doing Bad Girl music in a different way but with mass appeal.
