The initial reviews of Sunil’s much-hyped film Bhimavaram Bullodu are disappointing; however the film has had a grand opening on day 1 of its release. The film saw packed-houses in most parts of the state.
The fact that the film released on the eve of the festival of Maha Shivaratri proved to be profitable for the makers, as it drew huge crowds to the theatres. The trade pundits have declared that Bhimavaram Bullodu stands third in terms of opening-day’s collections after Ram Charan’s Yevadu and Mahesh Babu’s One Nennokadine. The analysts have also noted that, in most places the film’s opening is on par with Nagarjuna’s Bhai and Venkatesh’s Masala.
Bhimavaram Bullodu is estimated to make around 2.5 crores as opening-day collections in AP alone. Should the makers thank Lord Shiva?!
Sunil’s film might have had a good opening and all but the reviews have been poor, in fact, most reviews are criticising that the film as “a blast from the past”; the director seems to have ripped off bits and pieces from 80’s flicks and made this a stale film. We will have to wait for the weekend collections to get a clear picture of the film’s fate or maybe it is necessary!
