Born in a farmer’s family, Veeru Potla hails from the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. He completed his higher education in Piduguralla. Potla was interested in films and that brought him to Hyderabad. He started his career as a screenwriter. Veeru Potla made his debut as a screenwriter with the film Varsham, released in 2004. Next came Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana in 2005, starring Siddharth and Trisha and was directed by Prabhu Deva. Veeru donned the director’s hat with the movie Bindaas and Ragada, in 2010. Bindaas starred Manoj Manchu and Ragada had Akkineni Nagarjuna in the lead. With his latest box office venture, Doosukeltha, Veeru has yet again found success, with the movie being declared hit. He has earned great reviews for his directing, especially his comic timing and screenplay. The director himself reveres film greats K.Viswamath & Woody Allen.
Veeru earned great review for his debut film, Bindaas. The film had ample entertainment in the script and the second half, particularly, had unexpected twists. The realization of the script in the film showed what an entertainer Veeru could be. Veeru went further with Ragada. The film was distinguished from other entertainers by the treatment and characterizations done by the first time director.
