How else can we pay tribute to the legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao? Our politicians could only do this; name a road after him. It is not being critical but helpless because whatever tribute we pay to the great actor would seem too menial.
Nevertheless, Labour Minister Danam Nagender has installed the foundation stone to build a road from Banjara Hills, Road No.2 to Jubliee Hills, Road No.5, which exactly passes oppositely to the Annapurna Studios owned by the Akkineni family. This road will be named after the celluloid’s greatest star.
This particular road will be made with an estimated cost of Rs 7.2 crores. The minister supposedly proposed this project to the Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain, who has given the permission to name the road after ANR. Danam Nagender has also requested for the installation of ANR’s statue at Film Nagar.
The Labour Minister expressed that this will be the ideal tribute to the late matinee idol, and it will be named Dr. Akkineni Nageswara Rao Marg.
