Why Are Seniors After Young Actresses?

Why Are Seniors After Young Actresses?

Why don’t our senior actors in the film industry give a thought of doing age appropriate roles? Leave the age-appropriate roles part they want to do all that and much more in equation to their younger counterparts; be it “age-defying-action”, dialogue-delivery, romancing young and beautiful girls and what not. The best part is the filmmakers as well as the actors (who are close to 50 or above) are shockingly unapologetic of romancing girls half their age.

Interestingly be it Bollywood, Tollywood or Kollywood Indian film industry on the whole has a few senior actors who are acting in such “magnanimous roles” rather the super hero kind of roles and what is unacceptable or call it creative fatality most of the times is that they will be dancing/romancing young girls, which puts us off as audience and we wonder at the arrogance of these actors who ensure they be casted opposite young actresses.

Also, what is even more shocking is that new and young actresses are willingly accepting to act with these senior actors (mind you we are talking of the well-established ones, the superstars). We wonder if it is for the hike in their career graph or to get a desperate break they need to enter the film arena. For god’s sake how long can we watch these oldies wearing wigs, covering their wrinkles and saggy skin with make-up and doing over-the-board romantic scenes with girls of their daughter’s age? Such a visual pollution to say the least!
